Before the flight 

GENERAL INFORMATIONS - SCHEDULES - TAXES - FARES

Air Mali looks attentively after the regularity and on-time performances of its services. However it assumes no responsibility for possible delays, suspensions, modifications of schedules or for mis-connections.

Taxes
Taxes can be modified at any time and do not depend on Air Mali’ responsibility.

Fares
All fares are inclusive of taxes.

USE OF MOBILE PHONE - ELECTRONIC DEVICES

Mobile phones can be used on Air Mali flights according to following modalities :

-       from boarding the plane up to the closure of plane’s doors

-       upon arrival, only after the opening of plane’s doors.

However, the Captain can ask you to switch off mobile phones at any time he deem necessary. He can also give the authorization to switch mobile phones on, in case of unexpected ground time after passengers boarded the plane.

The use of laptops, readers of compact disks and remote-controlled games is forbidden on board.
For the use of the other electronic instruments, just ask for flight attendants’ authorization.

BOOKINGS - CHECK-IN TIME

Bookings can be made by any air Mali office and representation, by travel agencies or by calling up the number + 223 20 22 24 24 (08h00-17h00).

Booking becomes firm only when ticket is issued. Please let us know as early as possible about any change or cancellation of your booking in order to avoid possible penalties. In any case some fares may be subject to penalties for changes occurred after ticket is issued.  

CHECK-IN TIME
For the domestic flights, passengers must have completed check-in operations not less than 35 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the flight.
For the international flights, the passengers must have completed check-in operations not less than 45 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the flight.
Air Mali invites the passengers to reach the airport two hours before the departure.

Even confirmed passengers may be denied boarding if they show up at check-in counter after the time limit.

 In case of no-show on any flight, Air Mali shall cancel all bookings made for the following flights included the return one.

OVERBOOKING - DENIED BOARDING

In order to make no-show passengers’ seats available for those passengers who have not been able to get a confirmed seat earlier, Air Mali, as most airlines, may apply an overbooking policy to the sale of the flights.

Air Mali performs a strict control on its booking levels to minimize the risk a passenger is left on ground as a result of an overbooking process. Should this occur, a compensation policy has been set to comply with international regulations .Air Mali Stations Manager and local staff shall provide passengers with texts onto the rights of the passenger and the assistance to the customers :
- Regulation N° 03 / 2003 / CM / UEMOA establishing rules relative to the compensations for denied boarding of the passengers and for cancellation or important delay of a flight - Article 3 and article 4.
- Regulation CE N° 261/2004 of the European Parliament and the council of February 11th, 2004.

TICKETS

Tickets can be bought by any Air Mali office and representation or by the authorized Travel agencies. Ticket validity for normal fares is  one year from the date of the beginning of the journey, or from the date of issuance if the journey is not reserved. The validity of tickets at special fares is subject to restrictions as shown on the ticket itself.

Tickets can be booked on Internet. After booking through our website, please apply to any Air Mali agency for payment and ticket issuance.

LUGGAGE - TRANSPORT OF ARMED AND AMMUNITIONS

Luggage in hold :
For domestic flights, the baggage allowance is 20 kg per passenger (adult or child), 10 kg per infant not occupying a seat. On African and intercontinental flights, the baggage allowance is 35 kg in Economic class and 40 kg in Business class per passenger (Adult or child), 10 kg per infant.
In case of weight exceeding this limit, you will charged for extra kilos. Rate for extra kilos depend on itinerary and final destination.

By the time Air Mali can make promotions on baggage allowances according to the destinations. Just ask when booking your Air Mali flight

Following articles are forbidden in hold baggage:
- fragile Objects and those which can deteriorate such as Money, jewels, silver objects or valuables generally.
- Samplings or business documents
- Explosive, ammunitions, fireworks and brilliant rockets
- flammable Substances liquid as, for example, refills for lighters, coloring agents, thinners or solid substances, matches,
- Gas compressed, materials corrosives, liquid or solid flammable materials
- Materials oxidizing as, for example peroxides
- Materials corrosive as, for example, mercury, acids, alkalis, automobile batteries
- Toxic matter and pathogenic agents
- radioactive Materials, malodorous materials and the other dangerous goods cannot be brought on board.

Hand luggage :
It is allowed to bring in the cabin only one piece of luggage whose weight  does not exceed 10 kg on the intercontinental and African flights and 5kgs on the domestic network.

It is formally forbidden to transport in your hand luggage the following objects :

- Liquids (water, soup, drinks, cream, lotion, oil, perfume, spray, hair gel, shower gel etc.)
- Toy in the form of pistol
- knives, open letters, razor blades
- professional Working objects (typify hammer, saw etc.)
- Spears, scissors, syringes with injection (*)
- Needles with knitting
- Stick typify "baseball"
- Stick with billiards

(*)  The passengers can transport a syringe with injection in their hand luggage only if they are in ownership of a valid Card of diabetic or a medical certificate. In any case passengers meeting those conditions are due to inform Air Mali staff when boarding the flight.


TRANSPORT OF ARMED AND AMMUNITIONS

Passengers carrying firearms and/or ammunition must notify the airline before completing check-in formalities. Firearms and ammunitions can only be carried as checked baggage and may not be carried in the cabin.

Firearms are only accepted if unloaded, dismantled and stored by an authorized security staff in appropriate sealed containers. This service may be subject to a charge.
Ammunitions can be only accepted if stored in appropriate locked metal, wooden or fiber containers, shock and fire proof.

DISABLED PASSENGERS

In compliance with the provisions of security standards, Air Mali limits the number of disabled passengers on board its planes. Not more than 2 disable passengers can be accepted per flight. However, for operational reasons, on certain flights, no assistance of any kind could be granted.

Should a passenger need assistance to board the plane, to go down the staircase of the plane, to sit down on board, the passenger should inform the airline at the time of booking. A request will be directly sent on the reservation file and the agreement will be noted on the same file by the airline.

The pregnant women can travel until the 6th inclusive month of the pregnancy without formality.
From the 7th to the end of the 8th month : medical certificate issued not more than 07 days before the departure date. From the 9th month, the pregnant woman must be accompanied by a doctor

The visually handicapped passengers which are not accompanied, are foreseen in limited number on flight. It is necessary to indicate the necessity of assistance during the booking so that the airline can organize all the necessary operations of assistance. We authorize, free of charge, on request at the time of the booking, the presence aboard the dog guides, only if dog has a leash and a muzzle.
In order to guarantee the best service or in the phases of loading / landing or during the flight, the disabled passengers needing a particular assistance have to appear at the checking at least 90 minutes before the departure to make any operation.

The passengers who travel in Business Class, can reach, free of charge, some VIP lounges of the main airports of our network.
